Role Description This is an on-site contract Teacher role located in Omaha, NE. The Teacher will facilitate SPARKPositivity programs for school-aged students, leading engaging lessons that integrate social-emotional learning and healthy lifestyle concepts aligned with the MIND, BODY, SOUL model. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, delivering instruction, managing classroom behavior, and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment. The Teacher will collaborate with school staff and SPARKPositivity team members, track student participation and progress, and communicate regularly with program coordinators. The role may involve both after-school and in-school program delivery, following organizational guidelines and school policies.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience working with children or adolescents in classroom or group settings.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including the ability to adapt curriculum to diverse learning needs and program goals.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal instruction, active listening, and professional collaboration with school and program staff.
- Ability to create inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote social-emotional growth and healthy behaviors.
- Experience with youth development, after-school or enrichment programs, or social-emotional learning is highly beneficial.
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of students independently on-site.
- Relevant degree, certification, or coursework in education, child development, counseling, or a related field preferred.
