Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor to join our team. The instructor will be responsible for delivering state-approved training to prepare students for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN or NAC) certification in the State of Washington. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of caregiving in a home environment. They will work closely with students to help them gain the skills necessary to provide high-quality care to individuals in need of personal care assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Delivery:
o Deliver state-approved curriculum that prepares students for the Washington State Department of Health Nursing Assistant Certification.
o Provide both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on training to ensure students are competent in caregiving tasks.
o Use a variety of teaching methods (lecture, demonstration, simulation, role-playing) to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Student Evaluation:
o Assess student performance through written tests, skill evaluations, and practical exams.
o Provide constructive feedback and support to help students meet course objectives.
o Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and performance reports.
Compliance and Documentation:
o Ensure all instruction and documentation comply with Washington state regulations and guidelines for Nursing Assistant certification.
o Assist in keeping training materials updated and aligned with state and federal guidelines.
o Submit reports and documentation as required by the Washington Department of Nursing (WABON) and Workforce Training Board.
Classroom Management:
o Create a positive and respectful learning environment for students.
o Manage classroom activities, including setting up for practical demonstrations and simulations.
o Address any student concerns or questions in a timely and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
o Associate’s degree in nursing or higher is required.
o Minimum two years of healthcare professional experience.
Licensure/Certification:
o A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nursing (RN) and in good standing in Washington State.
Experience:
o Completed one year of verifiable paid or unpaid work experience as a licensed nurse within the past three years providing direct patient care for the elderly or chronically ill of any age.

o Completed three years of verifiable paid experience as a licensed nurse at any time providing direct patient care for the elderly or chronically ill of any age AND verifiable paid or unpaid work experience as a licensed nurse in any role for at least one of the last three years.
o Have one year of experience teaching adults, beyond patient teaching or group setting.
o Complete training course on adult instruction prior to hire date.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
