Position Summary

The Facility Technician is responsible for contributing to the overall maintenance and upkeep of all Spark1 facilities. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all locations are well-maintained, safe, and operational.

This role involves performing preventive maintenance, handling repairs, groundskeeping and snow removal, coordinating with outside contractors for larger projects, and assembling new machinery as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

Facility Maintenance :

Ensure all facilities are maintained in optimal condition, addressing any maintenance issues promptly.

Perform daily upkeep tasks including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.

Preventive Maintenance :

Follow and maintain the preventive maintenance program for all facility systems and equipment.

Document all maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion and compliance with safety standards.

Maintenance Schedules :

Maintain and update detailed maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.

Ensure that all maintenance activities are documented and tracked in a maintenance management system.

Groundskeeping :

Participate in the upkeep of outdoor areas, including landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal as needed.

Ensure that the exterior of both facilities is clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.

Repairs and Troubleshooting :

Assist with regular inspections to identify and address repair needs.

Perform troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Coordination with Contractors :

Assist outside contractors and vendors with large scale projects.

New Machinery Assembly :

Assemble and install new machinery and equipment as required.

Ensure that new installations meet safety and operational standards.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment

Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation, including but not limited to, nutrient requirements, growing media, light requirements, temperature control, and airflow.

Experience with compliance systems.

Basic understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and particularly those governing cannabis, and organizational rules, directives, and Standard Operating Procedures

Strong attention to detail, especially when dealing with plant health and data-tracking

Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule

Demonstrate strong communication skills

Work collaboratively in a team environment to accomplish company objectives with either direct or indirect authority.

Effectively complete critical and challenging projects with other employees.

Excellent prioritization, planning, organization, time management and multitasking skills

Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor

Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions

Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
