Spark Power (USA) LLC, Fort Worth, TX seeks Director of Quality Assurance, Renewable - Lead the development and implementation of Spark Power’s quality assurance, internal technician accreditation, and technical training programs across the Solar, BESS, and Wind portfolios to ensure alignment with ISO 9001 and client-specific requirements to include designing and executing field quality assurance strategies for projects. Oversee quality assurance audits, inspections, and technician evaluations to validate adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Pre-Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and contractual standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives by executing and facilitating structured corrective and preventive action systems and root cause analyses, leading to improvements in maintenance procedures, operational reliability, and field team effectiveness across the organization. Manage the Renewables Accreditation Program (RAP), internal certification framework, onboarding, and field-level competency assessments by leading the architecture and governance of internal technician accreditation framework, including onboarding, technical level certification, and field competency standards across multiple technologies and regions. Align technical training with NFPA 70E, NETA, ESTS Z-462, and industry-specific requirements to ensure measurable improvements in field performance and technician readiness. Support LTSA performance compliance, owner audits, and project readiness through documentation oversight, resource assessments, and customer engagement and act as a subject matter expert in quality-related client discussions and RCA reviews to include ensuring contractual readiness and compliance with Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) by supporting project mobilization, owner audits, and technical documentation aligned with client-specific deliverables. Perform regular site visits and field inspections to ensure adherence to maintenance standards, safety protocols, and quality expectations, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis for field equipment failures, driving corrective actions and performance recovery. Identify areas for improvement, reinforce best practices, and support site teams in resolving operational challenges and directing cross-functional quality initiatives in partnership with Operations, Engineering, HSEQ, and Talent Development teams, embedding technical standards into a company’s Integrated Management System (IMS). Collaborate with Operations, HSEQ, Engineering, Talent Development, and Field Leadership to embed quality and training into the broader field execution strategy and scaling the company’s quality and training programs across geographic markets by developing long-term strategies, governance tools, and performance dashboards to institutionalize technical excellence. Scaling the Quality Assurance function in high-level customer engagements, including technical escalations, field incident reviews, and performance assessments tied to contract obligations and audit findings and contribute to risk assessments, workforce development plans, and strategic field delivery initiatives. Develop long-term plans to scale technical training, field audit capabilities, and internal governance across geographies and business lines. Lead efforts to institutionalize technical excellence, enhance scalability, and support Spark’s growth in the renewables sector including developing technical training programs aligned with global electrical and safety standards (NFPA 70E, ESTS Z-462, NETA), with measurable impact on field safety, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Serve as a key point of contact for client escalations, discussions and performance reviews related to QAQC and technical support. Collaborate with People & Culture and Operations & Maintenance teams on workforce planning, staffing, and training initiatives to support efficient project execution and long-term growth. Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives that expand field service capabilities, enhance scalability, and strengthen Spark’s competitive position in the renewables sector. Will travel 40% in US and/or Int’l to meet with customers/clients, team members and technical site visits.
Requires Bachelor’s (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related and five (5) yrs. (post-degree, progressive) experience in Job Offered or related. Experience must have included at least 5 yrs. in each of the following: Designing and executing field quality assurance strategies for utility-scale Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Wind projects, including development of SQA methodologies, ISO 9001 compliant procedures, and technician performance audits; Leading the architecture and governance of internal technician accreditation framework, including onboarding, technical level certification, and field competency standards across multiple technologies and regions; Developing technical training programs aligned with global electrical and safety standards (NFPA 70E, ESTS Z-462, NETA), with measurable impact on field safety, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency; Executing and facilitating structured corrective and preventive action systems and root cause analyses, leading to improvements in maintenance procedures, operational reliability, and field team effectiveness across the organization; Ensuring contractual readiness and compliance with Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) by supporting project mobilization, owner audits, and technical documentation aligned with client-specific deliverables; Directing cross-functional quality initiatives in partnership with Operations, Engineering, HSEQ, and Talent Development teams, embedding technical standards into a company’s Integrated Management System (IMS); Scaling company’s quality and training programs across geographic markets by developing long-term strategies, governance tools, and performance dashboards to institutionalize technical excellence; and Representing the Quality Assurance function in high-level customer engagements, including technical escalations, field incident reviews, and performance assessments tied to contract obligations and audit findings
