ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with CSI's/Spark policies, procedures, guidelines, contractual commitments, and regulations.
- Ensuring patient client needs for nursing services are met according to PPEC regulations and quality of care is consistently provided.
- Conducting ongoing nursing assessment and evaluation of children attending the center.
- Developing and implementing plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
- Delivering nursing services according to physician orders.
- Supervising, teaching, and counseling patients, family members, and staff to foster confidence and competence in caring for children with special needs.
- Maintaining effective relationships within the family dynamic.
- Supervising and training other nursing services personnel.
- Implementing Quality Assurance (QA) activities, ensuring care meets company policies, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintaining clinical records and personnel files in compliance with company policies, state, and federal requirements.
- Working with the Marketing team to help improve and maintain census within the center.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years general pediatric nursing experience of which at least six (6) months must have been spent caring for medically fragile infants or children in a pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, PPEC or similar care setting during the previous five (5) years.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of home healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders.
- Proficient in computer skills and electronic medical record systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands of the position may include standing, walking, lifting, and carrying objects, and performing various patient care activities. The Director of Nursing may be required to participate in physical activities as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Nursing (DON) will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of nursing services to children with special needs, ensuring compliance with PPEC regulations, implementing service policies and procedures, managing nursing personnel, and coordinating comprehensive patient care services. The role involves developing and implementing patient care plans in conjunction with physicians, fostering educational programs for patients and their families, as well as staff, and conducting an ongoing quality assurance program.
We cater to children ages 0-21 who require a nursing intervention due to physical needs. This is a rewarding role that allows for a direct impact on the lives of children who need special care. Currently, our hours of operation are 6 AM - 6 PM, Monday - Friday, with potential Saturday openings as need arises. Join our team and make a difference today

- This role is based in a dynamic, fast-paced medical daycare setting that can be quite busy and at times chaotic. The nature of the environment requires an individual who can maintain calmness and professionalism under pressure. It's important that the successful candidate can effectively adapt to these conditions while continuously providing high-quality care to our patients.
