Ignite Sports Performance | Middletown, NJ
Ignite Sports Performance is seeking high-energy, professional Performance Coaches to join our team as independent contractors (1099). We work with youth, high school, and college athletes in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Coach group performance training sessions, clinics, and camps
- Deliver safe, structured strength & conditioning instruction
- Communicate clearly with athletes and parents
- Uphold Ignite training standards, culture, and professionalism
- Assist with specialty clinics, combines, and private sessions
- Represent Ignite Sports Performance on and off the training floor
- Promote programs and services through personal and professional networks
- Build business by bringing in athletes, teams, or clients
- Operate and promote a personal coaching brand while aligning with Ignite standards
Schedule
- Weekday afternoons and evenings
- Weekend availability preferred
- Flexible contractor scheduling
- No guaranteed minimum hours
Qualifications
- Experience coaching athletes (youth–college)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of strength & conditioning principles
- Ability to coach groups confidently and professionally
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
- CSCS, NASM, USAW, or related certification preferred but not required
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to attract and retain clients
- Must carry personal general liability insurance applicable to fitness/coaching services
Compensation
- Percentage-based compensation structure
- Paid via 1099-NEC
Independent Contractor Classification (New Jersey)
This role is classified as an independent contractor (1099) under New Jersey law. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, certifications, and general liability insurance, may promote their own brand, and are not eligible for employee benefits. Compliance with NJ ABC Test standards is required.
