What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Camp Counselor position at Spark Day Camp?
SPARK Day Camp is a rapidly expanding summer day camp in Middletown, NJ. We are seeking dual role EMT's / Counselors for Summer 2026 (June 22- August 21). The EMT must be licensed and currently registered or have reciprocity in the state of New Jersey. Our EMT's have dual roles as camp counselors as well. This way, anywhere our campers and staff are, a qualified staff member with medical certification is always nearby. Please only apply if you are interested in this capacity.
They shall perform the following duties but shall not be limited to:
· Evaluating and treating camper’s minor injuries and illnesses.
· Administering prescribed camper medications.
· Responding to emergency situations.
· Maintaining a log of Health Center visits.
· Maintaining a log of administered medications.
· Giving supportive health advice to counselors and other staff, if requested.
· Identifying health problems serious enough to require attention by our RN.
· Maintaining inventory of First Aid supplies and controlling their outflow.
· Being able to utilize best safe practices to protect him/herself, campers, and staff.
· If necessary, accompanying and/or transporting camper to off-site medical facility.
· Must be able to work well with others and relate well to groups and young people.
