Seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Onsite Liaison to provide consistent on-island support for a condominium community in Friday Harbor. This role is ideal for someone who knows the island, is comfortable working independently, and takes pride in keeping a property safe, clean, and running smoothly.
This position supports offsite management services by acting as the eyes and ears on the ground. You will observe, document, report, and handle light-duty maintenance and cleaning only.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Coordination & Oversight
- Serve as onsite point of contact for vendors during scheduled work
- Provide access to secure areas as needed
- Observe vendor work for quality, completion, and safety
- Document work with photos and notes and report to Spark
- Provide weekly status updates unless an urgent issue arises
Property Walkthroughs & Monitoring
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of common areas
- Identify maintenance, safety, or cleanliness issues
- Document findings with photos and written notes
- Monitor parking permit compliance and report issues to Spark only
Routine Light Maintenance & Cleaning
- Clean and maintain walkways, stairwells, and common exterior areas
- Pick up debris and loose trash
- Replace exterior lightbulbs and adjust lighting timers
- Clean common interior spaces such as laundry and workout rooms
- Maintain bulletin boards and remove outdated notices
- Monitor for leaks, moisture, or other visible concerns
Waste & Dumpster Area
- Keep dumpster areas tidy and secured
- Report illegal dumping or bulk items for vendor removal
Security Camera Monitoring
- Check camera functionality during visits
- Pull footage when requested by Spark
- Report malfunctioning or obstructed cameras
Emergency Response (On-Call)
- Respond to true emergencies such as water leaks, fire, power outages, or security issues
- Notify Spark immediately of any emergency or safety concern
- Emergency response is paid at 1.5× hourly rate
What This Role Is Not
- No resident management or rule enforcement
- No repairs, construction, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical work
- No vendor hiring or scope approvals
- No ladder work beyond step-stool height
- No confrontation with residents or guests
Schedule & Compensation
- Approximately 4 hours per week
- $50/hour
- After-hours emergency work paid at 1.5× rate
- Bi-weekly invoicing with timesheet and work summary
- Additional hours require advance approval
Requirements
- Must live on or regularly be on San Juan Island
- Strong reliability and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Ability to take clear photos and send written updates
- Own basic cleaning tools
- Must carry personal liability insurance
- Ability to respond promptly to emergencies when on island
