Controller Reporting to the CFO and CEO
The Controller will lead the company’s accounting and financial reporting operations and ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance. This position is central to maintaining strong internal controls, supporting a regulated medical diagnostics environment, and providing reliable financial information that enables effective decision‑making. The Controller will manage day‑to‑day accounting activities and be responsible for all aspects of financial statements and close processes, as well as partnering with the CFO, CEO and department leaders to support operational and strategic goals.
Core Duties:
Accounting Operations
Oversee all daily accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Ensure timely and accurate month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
Maintain a robust chart of accounts and ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the organization.
Supervise and develop accounting staff, ensuring high standards of accuracy and accountability.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relevant to a medical diagnostics business.
Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Maintain documentation and support for all financial reporting, audit requests, and compliance activities.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and best practices appropriate for a regulated environment.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate processes, and improve financial systems.
Support implementation and optimization of ERP and financial software tools.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis Support
Partner with the CFO to support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
Provide timely variance analysis and financial insights to department leaders.
Assist in developing dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools that enhance financial visibility and operational decision‑making.
Support cost accounting, inventory analysis, and project‑level financial tracking for operations and commercial teams.
Cash Management & Treasury Support
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity needs.
Oversee billing, collections, and vendor payment processes to ensure strong cash management.
Maintain banking relationships and support compliance with credit facility requirements.
Operational & Cross‑Functional Support
Collaborate with operations, laboratory, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and cost management.
Support pricing analysis, cost‑of‑goods reporting, and financial evaluation of capital expenditures.
Contribute to risk management activities, including insurance renewals and financial documentation for regulatory audits.
Additional Responsibilities
Oversight of payroll administration and benefits accounting.
Support for financial aspects of IT systems or laboratory information systems.
Assistance with due diligence, grant reporting, and investor‑related financial packages.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
- Strong Analytical Skills and a solid understanding of financial data interpretation
- In-depth knowledge of Finance principles and experience in financial planning
- Expertise in Accounting, with attention to detail and knowledge of compliance standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is a plus)
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience working in hybrid environments is a plus
