Job Description
About the role
The Legal Counsel at Spanx will support internal business partners through contract negotiations, policy and procedure, and risk analysis. As a member of the Legal Team, you will play an integral role in further achieving, maintaining, and surpassing the hyper-growth journey that is Spanx.
This role is based in our Atlanta headquarters, requires in-office work (Tuesday-Thursday), and reports to General Counsel.

- Review, analyze, and draft a wide variety of contracts, including vendor, consulting, distribution, manufacturing, and sales agreements, and communicate terms to internal business partners
- Review marketing materials for legal compliance
- Support HR team in reviewing and drafting internal policies and procedures
- Manage internal client expectations and prioritize simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner within a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Work with a limited degree of attorney oversight, exercise independent judgment, and serve as a key resource on behalf of the legal department for our internal clients
- Educate internal clients on legal matters and make appropriate recommendations to resolve complex legal and business issues
- Manage files, including contracts, correspondence, and other documents
Qualifications
We require…
- Law degree from ABA accredited law school; membership in good standing of any state bar (GA preferred)
- 2-3 years of experience; commercial contracts experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound, practical business judgement while working autonomously; strong initiative and motivation
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to take risks, champion ideas and grow independently and professionally
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the capability to balance competing priorities
- Ability to leverage relationships within the organization to meet deliverables
- Ability to establish trust and maintain a collaborative spirit working cross-functionally in the organization
