What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Spanish Schoolhouse LLC?
Do numbers tell a story? At Spanish Schoolhouse, they tell the story of children learning, growing, and discovering a second language across our network of campuses in Texas. We're looking for a meticulous, mission-driven Staff Accountant to keep that story accurate — and help us write what comes next.

Our program gives young children a bigger, brighter future — and our Finance team ensures the business behind the mission runs with the same excellence we bring to every classroom.

- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts each month
- Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and franchise royalty reports
- Support internal and external audits and assist with tax filing preparation
- Conduct variance analysis, surface discrepancies before they become problems, and assist with budget reviews
- Partner with other departments on budgeting and forecasting to keep the organization aligned
- Champion continuous improvement — identify process gaps and help build smarter workflows
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3 years of accounting experience in a multi-site business environment
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Solid grasp of financial regulations and compliance standards
- Analytical mindset with a genuine commitment to accuracy — you find the error before anyone else does
- A self-starter approach — you manage your own deadlines and don't wait to be asked
- Strong cross-functional communication skills — you can explain financial data to non-finance colleagues clearly and without condescension
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus — but not required
WHY SPANISH SCHOOLHOUSE
