Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented part-time Assistant Finance Manager to join our dynamic team at the Spanish American Center (SAC). The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive experience in non-profit accounting environments. As an integral part of our team, you will support financial reporting, monitor accounts, prepare reports as needed, and manage compliance to ensure accurate financial operations and strategic decision-making.

Mission

The mission of the Spanish American Center is to respond to the social, health, educational and cultural needs of the Leominster community and surrounding areas with special focus on the Hispanic /Latino community, limited by language, poverty and access. Duties

  • Assist in preparing the SAC operating budgets
  • Prepare detailed internal and external financial reports, interpret financial data, and communicate insights to management as needed
  • Maintain fiscal data for long- and short-term planning
  • Monitor and ensure adequate cash flow
  • Oversee accounting functions including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and cost control measures
  • Coordinate payroll processing with third party vendor
  • Assist external audits
  • Ensure compliance and reporting for governmental and private grants and contracts
  • Support the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and QuickBooks
  • Excellent understanding of public accounting principles including general ledger reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable processing, and bookkeeping
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis including forecasting, budgeting, cost management, and cash flow analysis
  • Excellent skills in financial report writing, interpretation of complex financial data, and strategic planning

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • 3-5 years experience working in accounting/finance
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, and other computer related skills
  • Proficient in the use of computers
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 per week
