About The Role
The Flatbed Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and performing flatbed freight operations, including loading and unloading freight safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer service expectations. This role supports daily yard, warehouse, and flatbed activities while serving as a resource for flatbed operations and customer interactions.
This position provides daily leadership, direction, and coordination to warehouse personnel. The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for setting service expectations, monitoring performance, coaching employees, and ensuring accountability.

About The Role
The Flatbed Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and performing flatbed freight operations, including loading and unloading freight safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer service expectations. What You’ll Do
Flatbed Freight Handling & Operations
- Load and unload freight from and to all types of vehicles, including flatbeds
- Load freight onto flatbeds according to size, weight, and balance requirements
- Apply proper strapping techniques and materials to ensure freight and driver safety
- Verify materials loaded and unloaded against work orders and documentation
- Attach tags, labels, or identifying marks to freight as required
- Update and annotate manifests accurately
- Record quantities and units handled or moved
- Move freight and materials between storage, production areas, yard, docks, and delivery vehicles by hand, pallet jack, forklift, or other equipment
- Assist with yard responsibilities including equipment positioning, movements, and snow removal
- Perform minor inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and yard environment
- Assist customers by phone and face-to-face in a courteous and professional manner
- Communicate work assignments and operational needs clearly with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse staff
- Assist coworkers and other departments as requested
- Accurately complete required paperwork and operational documentation
- Follow written work orders or verbal instructions to determine assignments and equipment needs
- Consistently follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned, including driving and freight delivery when needed
- Effective English communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing)
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Time management and task prioritization abilities
- Spatial awareness and load-balancing capability
- Social perceptiveness and professional customer interaction skills
- Equipment selection and control precision
- Ability to coordinate tasks across multiple departments
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Forklift Certification
- Hazardous Materials Certification
- Transportation, flatbed, or freight-handling experience preferred
- Valid Class A, B or C CDL with a clean driving record, preferred
- Ability to independently lift up to 70 pounds
- Ability to move loads up to 200 pounds with appropriate equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive physical movements including lifting, bending, reaching, grasping, and standing
- Good manual dexterity, balance, and coordination
- Ability to use proper lifting techniques and safety equipment
- Ability to work in a warehouse and yard environment with exposure to weather elements and vehicle exhaust fumes
