Duties
- Lead the installation of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical diagnostics, refrigeration issues, mechanical systems repair, and equipment failures using hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, plumbing layouts, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate system setup and integration.
- Supervise and mentor a team of installers and service technicians during project execution to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, conduct repairs on HVAC/R equipment, and carry out system upgrades to optimize performance.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and environmental safety during system servicing or installation.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain system functions, maintenance procedures, and answer technical questions while providing exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in HVAC installation, repair, or maintenance.
- Service technician experience with familiarity in HVAC/R systems including refrigeration, air conditioning, boilers, and building automation systems.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, electrical diagnostics equipment such as ohmmeters, and plumbing tools.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret HVAC design plans for proper installation procedures.
- Knowledge of electrical systems diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques essential for system repair.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC design or property maintenance are a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising field service teams; excellent communication skills for customer interaction.
- Valid van driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in equipment troubleshooting including ammonia refrigeration is advantageous.
