What are the responsibilities and job description for the LAND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT MANAGER position at Spalding DeDecker Associates, Inc?

We have a tremendous opportunity for a self-starting, motivated individual. This position will report and perform at the highest levels of the company, reporting directly to the Director of the Land Development Department. There is great upside growth potential for this position if the individual is successful. It is a management position on the Land Development team and is responsible for skilled and complex professional engineering work with minimum supervision; leading current projects in the K-12 public school sector; leading growth initiatives that include health care, senior assisted living, private development projects including commercial, retail, or office, or other potential growth areas. This position will market to owners and architects in the above-mentioned growth areas. Ability to introduce Spalding DeDecker to existing client contacts for new projects is a plus!
REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a current PE license in the State of Michigan
The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience (5 years required) specific to land development projects and be able to work independently as a project manager, and as part of our land development group
Professional Engineering lLcense (Preferred)
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage civil site development projects
Lead a team of engineers and designers for the projects
Manage projects to a profit while meeting all deadlines with quality.
Maintain and expand client relationships
Actively participate in the development of business from existing and new clients, and develop and write proposals for new projects
Selling the services offered by the department as outlined in the Growth Plan Developed for this Market or as directed by the Director of the department or President.
May organize and conduct presentations and interviews for procuring new clients, develop workload forecasting documents and organize a constructive workload schedule to manage all projects to budget and schedule of delivery dictated by the contract.
Represents Spalding DeDecker at networking events, conference, public meetings, and within the community
Provides mentorship and training for junior staff
Actively recruit new hires for the team as well as manage and develop existing team members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Individual must be willing to:
Work in an office environment
Attend client meetings and travel by car and/or plane if the project requires it
Participate in industry events such as conferences, relevant presentations
Perform project site visits

Job Type: Full-time, hybrid with three days per week required in the office after completion of probation period.
