Spacesaver Specialists, Inc. is the Oregon leader in designing and building very specialized and highly efficient storage systems - mobile and static shelving, cabinets, lockers, etc. But we would be nothing without our fantastic employees.
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on leader to manage our Installation Department and Warehouse Operations. This role requires a strong background in construction and a natural aptitude for problem-solving. We specialize in installing custom storage solutions across a variety of environments - schools, libraries, public safety, museums, high-tech - throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Some overnight travel will be required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of relevant experience in installation or carpentry in a foreman or supervisory capacity.
- Ability to pass a background check and ongoing company drug testing (including screening for marijuana).
- Occasional overnight travel in Oregon and SW Washington.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Construction Knowledge: Must understand construction techniques and have knowledge of, and experience using, most power tools. Ability to read blueprints.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how components fit together and come apart.
- Problem Solving: Comfortable navigating and resolving the unique challenges presented by each project.
- Organizational Ability: Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and oversight.
- Leadership: Comfortable stepping into a leadership role with a variety of personalities and abilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Planning & Execution: Oversee successful installations, including assessing crew requirements, materials, and responding to project-specific challenges.
- Freight & Logistics Coordination: Manage shipping schedules, liaise with freight partners, and ensure timely receiving, organizing, and staging of materials for upcoming projects.
- Site Assessments: Conduct pre-installation site visits to evaluate conditions and project needs; monitor job sites during installation for quality and progress.
- Team Training & Development: Provide training on safety protocols, installation best practices, and proper tool and equipment usage.
- Client Relations: Serve as a professional point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and ensuring a high level of satisfaction and confidence in our work.
- Team Culture & Attitude: Foster a positive, honest, and solutions-oriented work environment aligned with our values of pride and integrity in every project.
