Post-Doctoral Researcher in Exoplanet Atmospheric Characterization

Space Telescope
Baltimore, MD Full Time
POSTED ON 10/29/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/28/2026

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher position to work with Dr. Joshua Lothringer and collaborators on observational studies of exoplanet atmospheres. The research will include the analysis and interpretation of JWST observations of sub-Neptune and gas giant exoplanets. Part of the time may be available for independent research or new projects in related areas. The nominal start date is expected to be Summer/Fall 2027, but other dates are negotiable. The initial appointment is for two years, with renewal for a third year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

STScI, located on Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus in Baltimore, Maryland, provides a stimulating work environment rich in colloquia, journal clubs, symposia, and learning opportunities related to the missions supported by STScI (HST, JWST, Roman).
