The Opportunity


Do you have a Space Systems Engineering background? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your technical skills to our nation’s Space Systems? If this sounds like you, come join Space Force Analytics (SFA) and a team of scientists, engineers, and space system acquisition experts that are developing the next generation of remote sensing satellite and ground systems.


You will work with SFA colleagues, other support contractors, and U.S. Space Force personnel to acquire and develop Missile Warning/Defense, Weather, and Tactical ISR Systems. Your expertise and innovative thinking will be critical to the success of the programs that you support. The work may include at least 1 or 2 days per week on site and occasional travel to various contractor sites and U.S. Government installations.

Open Role 1: Ground Segment Systems Engineer


You Have


  • 6 years of space/ground systems engineering, mostly ground focused
  • Capable of learning/understanding the technical baseline of the system and can support tech baseline documentation processes
  • Familiar with space systems acquisition/development
  • Experience managing requirements and resources
  • Experience developing client & stakeholder relationships and briefing customers
  • Ability to interact in cross-functional teams and work collaboratively and independently
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM major
  • Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work on site at least 3 days a week.


Nice if You Have


  • Understand TT&C and Space/Ground Comms
  • Experience planning and executing ERBs
  • Experience with CAMEO or other Model Based Systems Engineering Programs
  • Experience with Relay Ground Systems
  • Experience with physical and virtual networks
  • Knowledge of ground systems equipment engineering processes
  • Experience working with US Space Force Personnel

Open Role 2: Space System Safety Engineer


You Have


  • 5 years of experience conducting systems engineering analysis, system safety analysis, risk management, or hazard analysis, and implementing DoD system safety programs including space, ground, software, or hardware systems
  • Experience defining and organizing program strategies and implementation plans for all phases of the acquisition life cycle that meet statutory, regulatory, federal, state, and local policies
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 safety analysis and safety program implementation
  • Ability to develop, manage, and execute government and program system safety management plans, processes, and products, including the System Safety Master Plan (SSMP), PESHE, Environmental Safety and Health Evaluation Plan, Safety Release Memo, and Environmental Hazard Analysis
  • Ability to identify and communicate potential risks, hazards, and deficiencies in operating procedures, system design, and training documentation
  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM major
  • Secret Clearance


Nice if You Have


  • Familiarity with space systems acquisition
  • Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and testing on space-based remote sensing systems
  • Experience planning and executing program reviews throughout the lifecycle of the system
  • Experience with Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) risk management and NEPA compliance 
  • Experience creating or reviewing Hazard Tracking Systems, Risk Acceptance Letters, and Safety Releases 
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01 or 5000.02
  • TS/SCI clearance 
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or CS INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification such as ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP Certification, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification


Open Role 3: Verification & Validation Systems Engineer


You Have


  • 5 years of experience performing systems engineering or integration
  • Experience in requirements and interface management, including development, decomposition, and traceability
  • Experience performing systems engineering for satellite systems
  • Experience navigating Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), preparing technical artifacts and presentations, and leading Working Groups (WGs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
  • Experience using management tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or Jama
  • Experience using Confluence and Jira
  • Knowledge of the Verification and Validation Lifecycle
  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM major
  • Secret Clearance


Nice if You Have


  • Experience in OPIR, Defense Weather, or Tactical ISR Mission Areas
  • Experience with OPIR Payloads, Space-Weather Payloads, Satellite bus and subsystems including propulsion, thermal control, power, attitude control, TT&C, communications, data processing, and structures
  • Experience leading a team performing systems engineering, integration, and testing on space-based remote sensing systems
  • Experience leading a team using Model-Based Systems engineering to manage system definition and technical baselines
  • Experience with digital engineering and model-based systems engineering
  • Master's Degree

Open Role 4: Transition to Operations Systems Engineer


You Have


  • 6 years of experience supporting large-scale national security space missions in systems engineering and integration
  • 5 years of experience leading or supporting transition to operations efforts for national space or ground software programs
  • Experience with space operations or ground segment operations, including test, checkout, and operational acceptance
  • Experience with DoD acquisition programs, stakeholder engagement, and program or project management
  • Knowledge of systems engineering management and processes, including life-cycle integration, requirements development, verification and validation, test, and integration
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build collaborative relationships with government clients, FFRDCs, and contractor teammates
  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree


Open Role 5: Technical Baseline Management Systems Engineer


You Have


  • 4 years of experience working large-scale systems engineering, integration, and development programs
  • 2 years of experience with performing and leading a team in the development and management of technical specifications, ICDs, CONOPS, architectural designs, and integration & test plans
  • Experience leading requirements and interface management efforts for a large program
  • Experience coordinating and presenting technical changes across large stakeholder groups through review boards, including configuration control and engineering review
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field


Nice if You Have


  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2
  • Knowledge of SPF 13-604
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree
