Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer for up to a full-time basis to support the design, development, testing and maintenance of a HALE UAV and its specialized instrumentation. Responsibilities include design and debug of UAV electronics, PCB design, sensors integration, controller and ESC troubleshooting, communication system development, and power system implementation. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, experience with UAV electronics and PCB design. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet technical and operational specifications is a key part of the role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with UAV electronics or robotics
- Proficiency in circuit design, embedded systems or test equipment
- Familiarity with PCB and electronics design tools
- Familiarity with avionics software such as ArduPilot
- Experience with battery systems, ESCs, RF modules or instrumentation
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities to effectively debug and troubleshoot issues
- Familiarity with industry standards and practices related to electrical and instrumentation systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with interns, engineers and scientists
- Organized, self-motivated with excellent communication and time management skills
- Must be a US citizen
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with instrument development preferred
- Interest in space physics, which includes the atmosphere and space radiation environment
