Field Service Technician is part of the installation and maintenance team responsible for testing, installing, and configuring network and equipment.
Job Description and Requirements:
- Technical knowledge of sensor technologies, preferred
- Technical knowledge of electrical power systems and communications, preferred
- Knowledge of photo and video camera operation, preferred
- Knowledge of communications cable limitations and sign attenuation
- Specific knowledge of the following required
Linux knowledge
- Connect to a machine using SSH
- Able to navigate in folders using shell commands
- Being able to create some scripts
- Able to look at machine logs
Knowledge in Virtualization Environments
- Docker Container
- Virtual Machines
Knowledge in Network Infrastructures
- Configuring IPs Fixed/DHCP
- Network Layer 1,2 and 3
Basic Knowledge in Database
- Simple SQL Queries
Basic HW and Electronic Knowledge
- Know what is Power AC/DC
- Know how to read electric diagrams
- Know how to use Multi-Meter
Troubleshooting
- Ready to do 2nd Level of Maintenance (accessing equipment and understanding what is the problem)
- Responding to client tickets
- Execute troubleshooting plan, including measurement of electric circuits, such as power levels, voltage, current, inductances, resistance and capacitors.
Other essential responsibilities to include the following:
- Read, understand and follow wiring diagrams
- Must follow up on all outstanding installation issues until resolution
- Communicate issues and progress clearly and concisely with team members and management
- Follow prescribed procedures and processes
- Document work, as directed, including writing short technical reports
- Must use Microsoft Office Suite and other reporting systems, as directed
- Must have ability to lift at least 50 lbs of equipment
- Work on a ladder and in a bucket truck
- Plan and coordinate installation field work with other support staff
- Must follow safety procedures at all times, and especially while working in the field
- Work requires moderate physical activity primarily in fabrication shops and construction site locations, where the problem is happening
- Work environment involves minimal exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- All maintenance will be done remotely using the tools provided
