What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Builder - Final Assembly Lead position at SP Industries?
JOIN OUR TEAM as a Machine Builder – Final Assembly Team Lead. In this role, you’ll lead a talented group of machine builders as you safely and efficiently assemble, build, install, test, and troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic components in accordance with detailed schematics.
What You’ll Do:
- Assemble and wire push-button boxes, electric motors, transformers, relay and timer sockets, circuit boards, hydraulic piping, hydraulic hoses, and hydraulic power units.
- Interpret blueprints and electrical/hydraulic schematics, translating drawings into accurate, high-quality assemblies.
- Use a variety of electrical and manual tools, including grinders, saws, squares, calipers, welders, belt sanders, shears, forming brakes, pipe cutters/threaders, acetylene and plasma torches, clamps, and other measuring devices.
- Communicate effectively, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Apply strong mechanical aptitude and maintain high attention to detail.
- Maintain a customer-first mindset by ensuring products meet specifications, quality expectations, and delivery deadlines.
What you’ll bring:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Training and/or experience from vocational school, community college, or on-the-job training.
- 3 years of leadership experience, preferably leading a technical or production team.
- 5 years of machine-building experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.
Physical Expectations:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
- Work in various physical positions such as crouching, kneeling, lying down, and accessing/working in low spaces (down to 40").
