Job Description
We are seeking a Product Stewardship Manager who is responsible for leading responses to complex customer regulatory inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate documentation aligned with current regulations. The successful candidate will lead corporate-level activities related to Product Stewardship functions and programs across North America. This position will have 2–4 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a corporate-level Environmental team that identifies and implements new regulations impacting North American operations; serve as an internal consultant on environmental-related issues
- Lead the Product Stewardship team supporting R&D and business units in areas including regulatory assessments, product safety reviews, and regulatory disclosures
- Lead a corporate-level Industrial Hygiene team supporting operations and R serve as an internal consulting group on industrial hygiene matters in collaboration with local safety personnel
- Interpret federal, state, and local regulations, assess business impacts, and develop strategies in collaboration with senior leadership and legal
- Develop, implement, and communicate company guidelines, policies, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with best practices
- Communicate and execute strategies addressing changes in the regulatory environment with executive leadership, business leaders, and legal counsel
- Educate and advise Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, and Product Stewardship teams on policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Influence cross-functional teams to drive process and technical improvements
- Maintain a network of external consultants for specialized project support
- Support sustainability initiatives related to regulatory affairs
- Coordinate Environmental, Product Stewardship, and Industrial Hygiene activities with global counterparts
- Represent the organization in industry groups, engaging with regulatory bodies and influencing standards and practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field required
- Advanced degree (MS, MBS, or JD) preferred
- 15 years of industry experience in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, or product stewardship functions (multi-discipline experience preferred)
- 7 years of leadership experience managing Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, or Product Stewardship teams
- Certified Product Steward (CPPS) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred
