Salary: Start of $14.50 per hour, based on education and experience
- Be punctual, begin all sessions promptly, use time for academic tasks, and focus on the student’s needs.
- Notify A&P Faculty of any schedule change needs within twenty-four hours.
- Participate in tutoring training through the Office of Student Services.
- Participate in lab materials/equipment training provided by Biology Faculty.
- Complete bi-weekly timesheets.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality about academic progress and/or personal information concerning students.
- Encourage student independence and suggest appropriate learning strategies and study tips while giving respect and honest feedback.
- Responsible for keeping consistent, accurate and updated paperwork.
- Utilize available resources and materials.
- Provide study sessions for students preparing for lab practical.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
- An A or B grade in Anatomy and Physiology I – lecture and lab, exempt from the course, or an instructor recommendation.
Required Experience: An A or B grade in the course(s) to be tutored, exempt from the course, or an instructor recommendation.
- Ability to work with a diverse, non-traditional, and traditionally underserved population.
- Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and networked personal computers.
- Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing job duties to meet deadlines.
- Maintaining interpersonal professional working relationship at all levels – students, peers, and faculty.
