Senior Data Engineer with Medallion Architecture (Need Only local to Boston, MA)

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Boston, MA (Onsite – 4 Days/Week) Need Only Local

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Boston. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building scalable data platforms, working with modern data architectures like Data Warehouse and Lakehouse, and expertise in Python-based data engineering. This role also requires mentoring junior team members and contributing to platform modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and workflows

• Build and optimize Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architectures

• Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)

• Ensure high standards of data quality, observability, and monitoring

• Manage data cataloging and metadata frameworks

• Support existing data platforms (MS Fabric) and contribute to modernization efforts

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Lakehouse concepts

• Hands-on experience with Medallion Architecture

• Proficiency in Python (mandatory)

• Experience with Data Observability and Data Quality frameworks

• Familiarity with Data Catalog tools

• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure (Azure preferred; AWS candidates must be willing to learn Azure quickly)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake

• Exposure to MS Fabric

• Experience in data platform modernization projects

• Domain knowledge in data/business context (nice to have)
