HIL / Telematics Test Engineers (Only W2)

Title: Software Test Engineer (End-to-End Telematics Testing)
Location: Onsite Mossville, IL
Duration: Long-term contract

Overview

Seeking a Software Test Engineer to join the End-to-End Telematics Testing Team supporting Caterpillar s Digital Systems. The role involves testing telematics systems (onboard and backend) using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, executing and automating tests, and supporting validation activities for machine control and digital products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end testing using simulation and HIL setups.

• Execute and automate test suites for telematics and ECU systems.

• Analyze and document test results with full traceability.

• Support validation plans, issue tracking, and troubleshooting.

• Communicate technical findings to cross-functional teams and management.

Must Have Skills

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering with 2 5 years of experience
  (or Master s with 1 3 years)

• Hands-on experience with HIL system testing & hardware setup

• Experience with testing service tools and remote configuration

• Strong analytical and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python test automation

• Knowledge of Machine & Engine ECUs and software update processes

• Familiarity with SAE J1939 and machine datalink architecture
