Position Summary
The Construction QC/QA Manager ensures all projects meet or exceed the company’s quality standards, design specifications, contract requirements, building codes, and industry best practices. This role leads the implementation of the Quality Management Plan (QMP), oversees inspections, verifies work installed, manages documentation, and works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and owners to deliver consistent, high-quality construction outcomes across all projects.
The QC/QA Manager is a proactive problem solver, able to anticipate issues before they occur, and ensures projects maintain high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities1 - Quality Control Oversight
- Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor workmanship, materials, and adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
- Perform and document three-phase inspections (Preparatory → Initial → Follow-Up).
- Verify that all materials and equipment delivered meet project specifications and submittal requirements.
- Track deficiencies, punch-list items, and nonconforming work, ensuring timely resolution.
2. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain a complete and well-organized QC documentation program, including inspection reports, test records, submittals, RFIs, and project photos.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Oversee document control processes related to quality and compliance.
- Review subcontractor QC documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues between owners, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Lead Pre-Activity Meetings with subcontractors to review scope, quality expectations, mock-ups, testing requirements, and sequencing.
- Work with Superintendents and Project Managers to identify risks or recurring issues.
- Facilitate weekly QC coordination meetings and issue tracking updates.
4. Testing, Inspections, and Compliance
- Coordinate and oversee third-party testing agencies, special inspections, and code inspections.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Contract documents
- Federal/state/local building codes
- Safety regulations
- Industry standards (ASTM, ACI, AISC, SMACNA, NEC, etc.)
- Audit subcontractors to ensure they maintain required QC procedures and certification status.
5. Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance
- Analyze trends, recurring defects, and root causes; recommend improvements.
- Implement lessons learned, corrective actions, and long-term QA strategies.
- Train field staff and subcontractors on quality expectations and procedures.
- Lead internal quality audits across multiple job sites.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field — or equivalent field experience.
- 5 years of construction quality control experience in commercial, multifamily, aviation, industrial, or institutional projects.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (structural, MEP, finishes, civil).
- Familiarity with industry standards and QC methodologies (e.g., three-phase control system).
- Experience working with project documentation—blueprints, submittals, RFIs, testing reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in construction technology platforms (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Fieldwire, etc.).

- Experience in design-build, modular, tilt-up, or aviation construction.
- Strong photo documentation and reporting skills.

- Job sites include commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, aviation, and renovation projects.
- Office and field-based hybrid role.
- PPE required at all times on active sites.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
