Duties
- Assist in installing, wiring, and maintaining electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings, following blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, bend, and assemble electrical components with precision.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and construction blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems, identifying issues using testing devices such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems on low voltage and high voltage systems safely and efficiently.
- Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Support the installation of low voltage wiring for communication systems, security alarms, or other specialized circuits.
- Collaborate with construction teams including frame carpenters and other trades to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for project documentation.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols on construction sites to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience as an industrial or commercial electrician is highly desirable; recent apprentices are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools (such as pliers, wire strippers) and power tools (drills, saws).
- Experience working on construction sites with exposure to framing carpentry is a plus.
- Knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical installations.
- Ability to use testing equipment including ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring systems used in communication or security applications; experience with high voltage systems is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and practical application in real-world settings.
