Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery

Southwoods Health is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Surgery RN to join our award-winning team at The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods in Boardman, Ohio. This role is essential in guiding direct patient care within the surgical suite, ensuring safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence

Essential Duties:

• Participates as a team member in support of patient outcomes and experiences
• Plans care in order to meet the needs of patient safely and effectively
• Considers cost containment by using resources appropriately
• Maintains patient privacy and ensures confidentiality of protected information
• Identifies patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy/procedure
• Performs the circulating nurse's role and functions to meet requirements of scheduled procedures
• Assembles and provides properly functioning equipment, supplies and instruments before the start of the procedure
• Assists with proper and safe positioning of the patient
• Prepares the operative site as directed by established procedures
• Monitors compliance with principles of aseptic technique
• Documents patient care records and other forms accurately
• Participates in facility trainings and learning opportunities
• Ensure all processes at responsible physician practice maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
• Certification: Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Core Competencies: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to delegate appropriately.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulately document the clinical picture.
• Professionalism: Proven ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Schedule & Benefits:

• Status: Part-time (3 days per week).
• Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (days vary).
