Underground Utility Foreman

Supervisory position responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance and repair of underground utility systems. These systems can include water, sewer, gas and storm sewer. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Project Management: Plans and coordinates underground utility projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
2. Supervision and leadership: Directs the daily activities of crews and providing guidance and support
3. Safety Oversight: Ensures all work performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting safety meetings and inspections
4. Technical Expertise: Provides technical direction and problem solving for complex underground utility issues
5. Equipment and Materials Management: Manages the use and maintenance of specialized equipment and tools, ensuring they are available and in good working condition
6. Training and Development: Trains crew members on best practices, safety procedures and technical skills specific to underground utility work
7. Quality Control: Monitors work quality to ensure it meets industry standards and project specifications
8. Documenting and Reporting: Maintains detailed records of work performed, materials used and project progress
9. Communication: Act as a liaison between field crews, and management, ensuring clear and effective communication

Qualifications: 

• Experience: Extensive experience in underground utility work, often with several years in a supervisory role
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal skills
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of underground utility systems, construction techniques and related equipment
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to address and resolve complex technical and logistical issues
• Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to maintain high safety standards and ensuring compliance with regulations
• Certifications: May require specific certifications related to underground utility work and safety
