Job Goal: To assist the Teacher in providing the best educational experience for the District’s
students.
Supervision: Reports to the Building Principal.
Education, Work Experience, and Licensure:
Required: Associate’s Degree or two (2) years post-secondary training in education or related field or successful completion of ParaPro Assessment.
Preferred: Two plus years of prior work experience.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Work under the direction of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher to meet the individual needs of all students.
2. To provide instructional assistance in selected skill areas.
3. Collect data and implement behavior management program for designated children.
4. Implement Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) plans for students.
5. Provide inclusionary support in classroom.
6. Participate in Professional Development/training as needed.
7. Provide support services and accommodations as recommended by related services personnel, therapist and consultants.
8. Review and implement modifications and accommodations documented in student’s IEP.
9. Provide support to students requiring Assistive Technology to access the curriculum.
10. Performs other duties as requested by Building Principal or Director of Special Education.
Physical Requirements:
The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs and step stool whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally. There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer, typewriter, keyboard, calculator, and other business machines.

The occupant is required to work indoors and outdoors. The regular chemical solvents are toners and cleaning fluids.
