ANNOUNCEMENT: Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the part-time SWIC Educational Employee position of Website Manager & Communications Specialist.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this position requires familiarity with virtually all operations of the college to assist with the Public Information and Marketing efforts of the department and across departments/divisions. The PI&M Web Content Manager/Communication Specialist is responsible for all components and facets of the college’s online presence and digital marketing needs, which require technical expertise, as well as proficiency with social media, search engine optimization (SEO) and Web analytics. The coordinator also has the same primary duties as Communications Specialist (PTEC-035) and works directly with the Associate Director of PI&M on weather/emergency communications and projects including, but not limited to, college special events/projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications and familiarity with current Associated Press Style Manual required.
2. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in public relations or marketing communications or three (3) years’ experience in news writing, feature writing, or advertising copywriting required, and three (3) years’ experience content marketing.
3. Experience with HTML, WordPress, Google Analytics, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Outlook and MS Word (required), and Google Webmaster Tools, SharePoint and PeopleSoft (preferred).
SALARY: $26.39 per hour, up to 28 hours per week
