Position Summary
The Director of Strategy Management designs and oversees the strategy execution framework for Southwestern Health Resources. This position is responsible for the management structures that keep the most critical initiatives on track and aligned with long-term objectives. This includes managing the strategic planning process, overseeing the project portfolio, and ensuring clear communication across all levels of the organization. The Director of Strategy Management is a key advisor to the senior leadership team, supporting the successful execution of our long-term strategic plan.

Position Duties
Support executive leaders in completing multi-year strategic planning processes to define corporate goals and resource allocation.
Manage the annual strategic planning calendar, coordinating inputs from finance, HR, and operations to create a unified strategic roadmap. Reviews outcomes and adjusts frameworks to improve future decisions.
Manage the organization-wide portfolio of strategic projects; closely managing to identify risks, resource bottlenecks, or alignment gaps. Designs feedback loops to track progress on key initiatives. Works across department leaders to remove bottlenecks and negotiate trade-offs to protect timelines and outcomes achievement.
Establish and implement the "rules of engagement" for executing strategic initiatives, including standardized project organization, reporting cadences, and decision workflows.
Facilitates and aligns cross-functional work across departments, breaking down silos and ensuring that resources are aligned with strategic goals. Drives others to take timely action. Balances interests and negotiates agreements that enable joint execution.
Track and analyze key metrics to measure the success of strategic initiatives. Monitor metrics and milestones to chart progress against expectations and accountabilities. Provide regular progress reports to the senior leadership team and key stakeholders.
Lead monthly Strategy and Performance Review Meetings for the Senior Leadership Team. Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for use in executing report outs and corporate governance meetings. Uses multiple channels and routines to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
Own the design and maintenance of the performance scorecard system, ensuring data integrity and holding measure owners accountable to performance goals.
Own the design and evolution of short-term (annual) and long-term incentive plans, ensuring they reinforce and reward behaviors that help achieve business goals.
Lead internal communications with HR and Communications to ensure employees across the organization understand the "why" behind the strategy and their specific role in achieving it. Translates organization’s strategy into actionable roadmaps with clear milestones.
Lead high-impact, high-urgency projects that don’t naturally fall into a single functional department.
Provides oversight and direction of the Strategy Management department, including people management, talent development, performance management, and resource planning to support departmental goals.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Health Management, Business Administration or related field required
Master's Degree in Health Administration, Health Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
Experience
8 years progressive leadership experience in value healthcare administration, hospital operations, or healthcare consulting required.
5 years experience in value-based care preferred
3 years progressive experience in strategic planning or project management preferred
Skills
Knowledge of effective strategy execution frameworks and planning processes.
Experience using project management methodologies overseeing project portfolios.
Functional understanding of corporate governance and how to structure accountability, decision rights, and reporting cadences within a large organization. Comfortable maneuvering through complex policy and process dynamics.
Strong ability to effectively prioritize competing initiatives based on resource availability and strategic alignment.
Excellent ability to lead by influence to guide the behaviors and decisions of others without relying on a formal title or a reporting relationship. Anticipates implications of decisions and navigates politics effectively.
Capable of facilitating high-stakes meetings, such as Strategy Review Meetings and Senior Leadership Meetings to drive problem solving and decisions.
Demonstrates strong ability to recognize, understand, and synthesize the complex interdependence within an organization.
Able maintain performance, composure, and a positive outlook during periods of ambiguity, shifting priorities, or organizational transformation.
Travel Requirements
Domestic 10% Travel to different local offices or locations. Occasional travel to out of state conferences.
