It is a requirement of this position to be a incoming or current student at Texas Baptist College or Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary due to program learning objectives.

Job Description

Job Summary

The Womens Center Associate will play a vital role in supporting the mission and initiatives of the Womens Center. This position serves under the Dean of Women to carry out the ministries of the Southwestern Womens Center and support the various ministries to women on campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and organizational support to the Dean of Women and affiliated groups, including Metochai, the Southwestern Womens Club, and the Society for Women in Scholarship.
  • Partners with the Dean of Women to develop and support mentoring opportunities for Southwestern women.
  • Manages daily operations of the Womens Center, including hospitality, mentoring and connecting with female students, and coordinating regular events and community gatherings.
  • Helps host recurring groups and gatherings such as TBC Coffee and Chat, Women on Mission, and other Womens Center activities.
  • Plans and executes key semester and monthly events, including Fall Kick-off, Spring Celebration, Fellowship Breakfasts, Big/Lil Ministry events, and special collaborations with Barnard Hall.
  • Maintains the Womens Center environment, including interior upkeep, providing hospitality items (such as baked goods), and managing operational supplies and inventory.
  • Supports communication and engagement efforts, including social media content, updates, and resource distribution for female students.
  • Collaborates with other schools and departments on campus-wide and constituency events (e.g., Dressed for Service, campus festivals, Womens Auxiliary programs).
  • Plans and staffs the Southwestern Womens Expo booth at the SBC annual meeting, and provides additional support to Admissions or Institutional Advancement at the event as needed.
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal and professional growth in leadership and ministry effectiveness.
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.

Specific Skills And Qualifications

  • Full-time enrollment as a student at Southwestern Seminary or Texas Baptist College required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and initiative; ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Exemplary social skills with an affinity for providing hospitality to guests and demonstrate love and appreciation for cross-cultural interaction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly and simply articulate the value propositions of SWBTS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
  • Evening and weekend work is occasionally required during large-scale events and peak seasons.
  • Travel to and work during the SBC Annual Meeting in June is required.
  • Ability to provide proof of Work Authorization in the U.S. and proof of identity.
  • Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Office Environment - May be required to reach above shoulder level for organizational tasks (e.g., retrieving files from upper shelves), bend, stoop, or reach to access lower or upper shelves.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and move about to the office to interact with other staff members.
  • Ability to use a computer and near-visual acuity in reading written documents and statistical data.
  • Exchanges information by telephone, computer, in writing and in person.
  • Ability to traverse campus for meetings and talk to groups while doing so.
  • Moderate Lifting - Occasionally transports 20-30lbs of parts and equipment across short distances by various means (e.g., carrying by hand, cart, golf cart) to accomplish tasks.
