Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lubbock, TX. This position is responsible for managing and growing sales within an assigned territory, building long-term relationships with existing customers, and actively identifying new business opportunities. Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting customers and prospects, presenting product solutions, preparing quotations, and negotiating pricing and terms in alignment with company guidelines. The Area Sales Manager monitors sales performance, maintains accurate account records, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and responsive customer service. This role also involves analyzing market trends, providing feedback on product needs, and representing Southwest Wheel® at industry events or customer meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in territory or area sales management, preferably in automotive, trailer parts, industrial distribution, or a related field.
- Strong skills in customer relationship management, including the ability to build trust, handle inquiries, and resolve issues promptly.
- Ability to identify leads, develop sales opportunities, and close deals while meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Solid communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical product information in clear, accessible terms.
- Competence in basic business math, pricing, and margin analysis, and familiarity with sales reporting tools or CRM systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- Comfort working in an on-site, customer-facing environment, including visiting client locations throughout the assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel regularly within the region.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, sales, or a related discipline is beneficial.
- Knowledge of trailer parts, wheels, or automotive components is advantageous, with willingness to learn product lines quickly.
