What are the responsibilities and job description for the LIDs Tech position at Southwest Virginia Regional jail Authority?
Responsible for providing all support associated with LIDS data, inmate financial reporting, billing and maintenance of inmate records. Performs LIDS batch file uploading on the computer system, report retrieval for LIDS functions, check errors and make corrections on LIDS reports, audit LIDS data, submit and certify LIDS month-end data. Reconcile LIDS to JMS data on a daily basis; upload LIDS data to the state comp board daily; verify uploaded data; perform inmate file auditing weekly; computation of inmate time; run reports; maintain satisfactory LIDS audit and report LIDS data in a timely and accurate manner as required by the Code of Virginia; perform all other related duties, as assigned.
Supervision is provided by the Jail Administrator and/or Administrative Lieutenant. Performance is evaluated in terms of quality and quantity of work accomplished, review of files, written and oral reports submitted by incumbent, accuracy and timeliness of accomplishing assignments and adherence to established policies, procedures and post orders. Overall skill in fostering positive and productive working relationships with staff and inmates is of critical importance. Attend State Compensation Board LIDS training once every 24 months, maintain satisfactory LIDS audit and report LIDS data in a timely and accurate manner as required by the Code of Virginia.
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree in related field preferred. May consider a minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting field in lieu of Associates Degree. Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Experience working in a detention or security facility setting a plus. Spanish-speaking abilities helpful. Effective verbal and written communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
