The District-Level Clinician will be tasked with reducing office referrals and mitigating risk factors for students exhibiting severe internalizing and externalizing behavior. The Clinician will oversee SVSU-wide mental health and therapeutic programming, ensuring the continuity and quality of clinical services by bridging gaps between individual school buildings and community partners and utilizing research-based, trauma-informed strategies, and digital platforms (SWIS and SRSS-IE platforms), in collaboration with BCBAs, counselors, site clinicians, administrators, student services, and teachers to develop data-driven plans to support student outcomes, monitored using SRSS-IE benchmark data. Duties (include but are not limited to): Clinical Oversight & Direct Services:
  • Provide individual, group, and family clinical counseling for students exhibiting complex or severe internalizing and externalizing behaviors across the district.
  • Oversee and coordinate district-level crisis intervention and stabilization protocols; conduct complex clinical risk assessments and participate in on-call emergency response.
Collaboration & Consultation:
  • Attend and consult on complex Educational Support Team (EST), 504, IEP, Guidance, and Clinical team meetings across SVSU buildings to ensure clinical alignment.
  • Serve as the district subject matter expert and consultant to school counselors, school-based clinicians, teachers, administrators, and general school staff regarding severe mental health concerns and behavioral management strategies.
  • Partner directly with BCBAs, student services personnel, and administrators to design, implement, and refine behavioral and therapeutic intervention plans.
Program Management, Data & Systems Leadership:
  • Utilize SWIS and SRSS-IE platforms to track behavioral benchmarks, analyze district-wide trends, measure program efficacy, and proactively reduce office discipline referrals.
  • Act as the primary district referral agent and coordinator with community mental health agencies, wraparound services, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Training, Prevention & Community Outreach:
  • Plan, develop, and facilitate SVSU-wide professional development and staff training on trauma-informed practices, mental health awareness, and behavioral mitigation techniques.
  • Lead and support SVSU-wide primary and secondary prevention programming to foster supportive school climates district-wide.
  • Organize and facilitate district-wide parenting education groups, workshops, and family engagement initiatives focused on student mental health and behavioral support.
  • Deliver specialized classroom mental health and social-emotional learning presentations as needed.

Salary : $54,000 - $96,000
