What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Operator - Street Sweeper position at Southwest Sweeping?
We are a street sweeping company providing sweeping services to asphalt contractors and other road construction companies. A CDL license is not required. We will train you on how to use a sweeper; however, past heavy duty truck driving experience is needed. Daily start and stop times will vary depending on the job. Typical working week is 50 hours with paid overtime after 40. This is a full-time position. Schedule flexibility is required, including the ability to work Saturdays as needed to meet business demands.
Duties include:
- Driving sweeper to and from the job
- Pre-trip inspection before leaving job
- Daily routine maintenance (greasing bearings, maintain truck in operable condition)
- Working under the direction of customer representative to complete task
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Able to fill out vehicle paperwork and customer tickets
- After 30 days you will be required to join Local 18 for approximately $125.00 plus dues
