Summary
The Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative will interact directly with customers whose product specifications require Southwest Steel (SWS) to outsource work orders. They will work directly with suppliers who perform any outsourced service to a casting in process, fully procure the product, or provide a sub element to be assembled to the finished product, while communicating and coordinating internally to complete customer orders on time, as scheduled.
Duties And Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Works with customers in all phases of the process from receipt of order to delivery of product to assure the plant meets and/or exceeds the customer’s expectations. Ensures customer satisfaction throughout all phases of the process from receipt of order to delivery of product by reviewing and communicating customer product requirements, resolving customer complaints, receiving and responding to inquiries, and collaborating with production on delivery timelines.
- Process customer orders through B&L Enterprise Resource Management system (ERP)
- Monitors and reconciles supplier debits and Processes credits and returns as needed.
- Provides recurring contact and follow up with customers either in-person or virtually.
- Collaborates with outside sales representative to maintain and grow SWS commercial products sales within assigned territory(s).
- Prepare verbal and written price quotations and written pricing agreements to customer base and following up within a specified time frame.

Minimum Qualifications
- Prior Customer service experience
- Ability to follow established processes and procedures
- Highly organized and prioritized
- Ability to skillfully present and communicate professionally in person, verbally and in writing
- Ability to accurately receive and interpret communication effectively
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and B&L Enterprise Resource Management or similar programs
- Ability work under tight time constraints, handle sensitive data and multi-task so that deadlines can be met
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read blue prints with a technical background
- Ability to systematically identify, analyze and improve upon existing structure
- Ability to identify, plan, start and complete projects or other work that needs to be done be met
