What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager Operations position at Southwest Search?
Our client, a growing manufacturing operation located just outside of Cleveland, OH, is looking to hire a hands-on General/Operations Manager who can lead plant operations and drive performance across the facility.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll operate as the “CEO of the plant,” working closely with executive leadership while being highly visible on the production floor.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations, driving productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Own financial performance including P&L, budgeting, and month-end reporting
- Lead and influence a team of onsite employees
- Improve processes, policies, and operational workflows
- Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, and environmental standards
- Partner with executive leadership (COO & CEO) on strategy and execution
- Build strong relationships across the plant by being present, visible, and engaged
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience as a General Manager, Plant Manager, or Operations Manager running a plant
- Heavy EPA experience/knowledge (highest priority)
- Ideal candidate should focus on outcomes over rigid processes
- Strong leadership presence with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
- Solid financial acumen (budgeting, reporting, performance metrics)
- Adaptable, accountable, and able to navigate a fast-paced environment
- Experience in manufacturing required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required)
- OSHA 10/30 and/or Six Sigma highly preferred
