Role
Objectives of this Role:
- Apply your knowledge and experience to directly support engineering teams on cutting edge research.
- Support the laboratory infrastructure for SwRI in Boulder, CO.
- Assist in the assembly, integration, and test of hardware projects including space flight hardware.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory space and laboratory equipment, including the purchase of lab consumables and tools and ensure safety of the laboratories.
- Work with contamination control engineering on incoming inspection of parts and cleaning and processing parts.
- Support Engineering staff by assisting with coordinating labs with building facilities and staff to support maintenance, upgrades, equipment delivery, etc with all relevant parties.
- Build and test harnesses and boards, including NASA crimping and wiring, NASA soldering, NASA staking and conformal coating.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years: Basic Computer skills, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Basic familiarity with SolidWorks, LabView or ability to be trained on basic technician functions of LabView and SolidWorks.
- 2 years: Work with setup and usage of standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Ability to build engineering level cables, adaptors, assemblies and boards and perform engineering level soldering tasks.
- 2 years: Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals. Familiarity with standard lab test equipment including: oscilloscopes, voltmeters and other measurement equipment to perform engineering support functions.
- Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
