JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SOUTHWEST ENTERPRISES JOB COACH / FLOOR SUPERVISOR / HTS

 

Status: Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act

 

Base Pay Rate: $12.50 Hourly.

 

Supervisory Relationships: Works under the supervision of the Southwest Enterprises Program Director. Oversees the consumers as assigned.

 

Purpose: The purpose of the Southwest Enterprises Job Coach / Floor Supervisor is to oversee the work and training activities performed by the consumers assigned. Ensures that work is performed to specifications.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1.  Supervision of vocational training in the workshop and on contractual work as per IP goals. Assists in performing assessments as directed by the Program Director.

 

2.            In the job coach area (after completion of ETS training), will work directly with and provide supervision and training to all clients eligible for Job Coach services in compliance with client’s IP goals. These jobs will be of varying nature and type in the community.

 

               3.            As an HTS, provide training in life skills as required by the client’s IP goals.    

 

                4.            Responsible for quality control of work performed by individuals served.

 

               5.            Coordinates workshop work scheduling with the Program Director.

 

6.            Serve as a “Safety Valve”. Close observation and immediate action as necessary to prevent incidents among individuals served. Counsel individuals as necessary and seek appropriate assistance. Must be able to follow policies and respond to situations as needed with follow-up to the Program Director.

 

         7.            Submit narrative reports to Program Director and provide assistance in preparing monthly reports.

 

8.            Transportation of individuals and/or materials as necessary for the operational needs of the agency as directed by the Program Director

 

9.            Administration of medications, checking in/out medications, and proper documentation in medication log.

 

10.          Assists in local enterprises of the workshop, such as retail sales and sale of shredded paper to the general public as needed.

 

11.          Other related duties as assigned.

 

Performance Expectations:

               1.            Confidentiality of client information is essential. This includes “shop talk” in the presence of clients.

 

               2.            Must be accurate and timely with reporting requirements.

 

3.            Abides by SOCAG Personnel Policies and program rules. Maintains communication and cooperation with the DDSD, DHS, and other agencies as required. Keeps the Program Director informed about the program.
 

               4.            Complete training as required. Must maintain any training or certification requirements.

 

5.            Concern for the adults with developmental disabilities. Stays abreast of trends and issues affecting persons with disabilities.

 

6.            Serves as a role model to consumers by exhibiting positive behavior and demonstrating work place skills and ethics needed by consumers to obtain employment.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

1.            High School graduate or GED with one year’s experience in developmental disability field is preferred.

 

2.            Must be able to successfully complete CPR-First Aid, Foundations, Medication Administration Training (MAT), and Job Coach (ETS) Training. Must be willing and able to take other training or education as required by DDSD. Existing certifications in these areas is a plus.

 

3.            Ability to be a model for individuals served and to work with those individuals in a positive manner.

 

4.            Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.

 

5.            Negative pre-employment drug screen prior to employment with a current photo identification. During employment, employees are subject to drug testing according to SOCAG Personnel Policies.

 

6.            Criminal background checks are required and performed according to Oklahoma statutes and any

program regulations.

 

Working Conditions:

1.            Able to work with persons with developmental disabilities in a positive method that is constructive and ensures they are completing assignments. Ensures that requirements are met for assigned contracts.

 

2.            Able to maintain control of a group of clients and adhere to IP plans and follows established protocols for working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

 

3.            Physical requirements include walking, standing, assisting clients with tasks.

 

4.            Regular travel is necessary for job duties. Oklahoma driver’s license required with acceptable motor vehicle record. Vehicle must have state minimum insurance. Training may include some evenings and overnight trips.
