Duties

  • Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess health status and diagnose medical conditions
  • Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and emergency surgeries with precision and care
  • Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments tailored to individual animal needs
  • Utilize veterinary terminology accurately when documenting cases and communicating with pet owners and team members
  • Handle animals safely using restraint techniques suitable for different species and temperaments
  • Assist with laboratory testing, sample collection, and analysis to support accurate diagnoses
  • Provide guidance on animal husbandry, nutrition, grooming, and general pet care to clients
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure safety
  • Support pet owners through education on animal physiology, anatomy, and health maintenance
  • Handle specialized tasks such as animal catheterization and managing critical care cases involving laboratory or equine animals

Requirements

  • Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensing or certification to practice in the relevant region
  • Proven veterinary experience with a focus on critical care is highly desirable
  • Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs and cats
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment
  • Experience in animal restraint techniques for safe examinations and procedures
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics
  • Ability to perform pet grooming and basic animal husbandry tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills for educating pet owners about animal health needs and treatments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $109,813.79 - $135,000.00 per year
