Sales Manager
About Us: Southwest Mobile Storage specializes in modifying storage containers for sale or lease. We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to provide leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to our sales team while driving revenue, customer acquisition, and market growth. In this role, you will oversee both inside and field sales functions, ensuring a cohesive sales strategy that supports business growth and customer acquisition.
Responsibilities:
- Own overall branch sales performance, including activations, revenue, rental-rate growth, and YoY/MoM targets.
- Lead, coach, and manage a balanced sales organization, ensuring strong execution across:
- Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs)
- Territory Sales Managers (TSMs)
- Translate company sales strategy into clear daily, weekly, and monthly execution plans for the branch sales team.
- Set individual sales goals aligned to branch targets and monitor progress through dashboards, scorecards, and regular performance reviews.
- Drive inside sales execution through:
- Activity and call discipline
- Pipeline inspection and forecasting
- Follow-up cadence and CRM hygiene
- Structured call reviews and 1:1 coaching
- Partner with Marketing to convert inbound leads effectively and ensure rapid response and proper lead routing.
- Partner with Operations to ensure seamless order execution, delivery coordination, and customer satisfaction.
- Enforce pricing discipline and rental-rate strategy to protect margin and support long-term revenue growth.
- Analyze sales performance data, identify trends, gaps, and risks, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ramping of new sales team members in alignment with company onboarding standards.
- Participate in forecasting, budgeting, and monthly business reviews with senior leadership.
- Ensure consistent and accurate use of CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the sales organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Perform additional duties requested by upper management.
Physical Requirements:
- Seated for extended periods (up to eight hours)
- Frequent computer and screen usage
- Ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch as required
- Travel up to 10%–25%, including occasional overnight travel
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Five (5) or more years of sales experience, with at least two (2) years in a sales leadership role
- Demonstrated success managing quota-carrying inside and/or field sales teams
- Experience working with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)
- Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and consultative selling
- Ability and willingness to spend significant time both in-office and in the field
- Ability to travel locally to customer sites or branch locations as required
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in container storage, ground-level offices, construction services, logistics, or related industries
- Experience managing mixed inside and field sales organizations
- Experience driving YoY growth and rental-rate optimization
- Formal sales leadership training or certification
- Experience working in a multi-branch or multi-market sales organization
