Southwest Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Field Supervisor to serve the Greater San Diego Area.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a highly skilled technician who will continue performing service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while also serving as a technical resource and mentor for other technicians. The Field Supervisor will lead by example, assist with complex troubleshooting, support less-experienced technicians, and help ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.
In addition to normal service technician responsibilities, the Field Supervisor will:
- Mentor and train service technicians in the field
- Provide technical support and answer troubleshooting questions
- Assist with difficult, complex, and high-priority service calls
- Respond to customer callbacks and help resolve ongoing issues
- Support quality control efforts and ensure repairs are completed correctly
- Promote safe work practices and company standards
- Assist management with technician development and performance improvement
- Serve as a technical leader within the service department
This position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer communication skills, and the ability to confidently diagnose and repair a wide variety of commercial HVAC systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of commercial HVAC service experience required
- Extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial HVAC systems
- Experience with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and advanced HVAC systems
- EPA Certification required
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- VRF / VRV certifications preferred
- NATE certification a plus
- HVAC technical school or formal training preferred
- Previous experience mentoring or leading technicians preferred
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop technicians
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong understanding of HVAC controls and electrical diagnostics
- Proficiency with refrigeration systems, hydronics, and commercial HVAC equipment
- Ability to manage challenging service situations and customer concerns
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable using Outlook, mobile devices, and service management software
- Ability to lift equipment, utilize ladders, and work on rooftops as needed

Full-Time Employee
Location: Greater San Diego Area
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (with overtime and on-call opportunities available)
$60.00 - $80.00 per hour
- Compensation based on experience, technical expertise, leadership ability, and qualifications.
