Duties
- Assume leadership responsibilities by coordinating nursing activities across shifts, ensuring seamless patient care delivery and adherence to safety standards.
- Provide direct patient care with proficiency in assessing vital signs, performing venipuncture, administering injections, and managing medication administration in accordance with medical orders.
- Oversee complex patient assessments utilizing physiology and anatomy knowledge to develop effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation of medical records, procedures, and patient progress.
- Manage urgent situations confidently by applying emergency medicine skills such as Basic Life Support (BLS), IV insertion, and responding to emergent conditions in trauma or critical care settings like Level I Trauma Centers or PICUs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists in infectious disease care, geriatrics, outpatient clinics, and post-acute care units to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all documentation and communication processes.
- Mentor and support nursing staff through clinical guidance, fostering professional development and maintaining high standards of patient care.
Experience
- Proven experience working in Level II trauma centers or Level I Trauma Centers with exposure to emergency medicine environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, emergency room settings, or urgent care clinics.
- Hands-on experience with pediatric intensive care units (PICU), geriatrics, or sub-acute care environments is highly desirable.
- Skilled in performing IV insertions, venipuncture, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring with precision.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient medical documentation and record-keeping.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and patient assessment techniques essential for accurate clinical decision-making.
- Prior experience managing inpatient or outpatient services within hospital or clinic settings is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
- Ability to handle fast-paced environments requiring excellent organizational skills and adaptability while maintaining compassionate patient-centered care.
