What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal Legal Secretary position at Southwest Litigation Firm?
This is a fulltime 8-5 job, Monday through Friday.
Two to four years of active, civil law, paralegal or legal secretary work is required. We are an insurance defense firm, and prior experience in civil litigation is appreciated.
The candidate will work with a Partner in the following areas:
Quick learner.
Type 40 WPM words almost no errors.
Calendaring
Scheduling
Phone communication
Drafting shells for discovery
Contact with client
Contact with other attorneys and the court.
Promptness to work.
Devoted time to work during the day.
Skills required are typing, Word, Outlook, Adobe Google search, and ChatGPT familiarity. Further and important, you need to known the terms of our profession used in civil litigation mean. This is not a role for a person who is just looking into the legal secretary or Paralegal field as a starting career. We are looking for a professional in his/her chosen field. We have seasoned paralegals to help and the attorneys and partners will help.
We work together for the benefit of our clients, the courts, and other counsel.
Our firm represents the insured, insured businesses, and insurers through efficient and effective litigation across Arizona and California. This position will work, in Arizona, but learn and practice with our local California partner. We are known for our extensive experience in the industry and civil litigation. Our practice encompasses litigation work in all areas, including personal and commercial litigation, construction defect, premises liability, products liability, bad faith, dram shop, professional liability and agribusiness. We are NOT your standard litigation firm - we make sure every team member can succeed.
