POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Supervisor is responsible for primarily supervising staff providing services to individuals through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) programs. At times, may also include Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAP E&T), Noncustodial Parent Choices (NCP), and Wagner Peyser (WP). This position also coordinates supportive services and conducts follow-up to ensure that necessary supports are in place. The target goal for customers served is employment at or above the self-sufficiency wage with job retention tracked for at least one year after exiting the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Evaluate program's effectiveness and ensure that operational and contract requirements are met.
• Monitor customer case files for eligibility documentation.
• Evaluates and sets goals for employees.
• Assist with setting center goals.
• Monitor and analyze centers performance goals and reports to management.
• Supervise hires and trains new staff with Site Manager.
• Represent the center at meetings and participating in the civic and social activities.
• Inform and educate businesses and individuals regarding the work of the center and increase employment opportunities for clients in the area.
• Prepare, submit and monitor case management documentation throughout the duration of client participation in the program, ensuring that data is entered into WIT system in a timely manner.
• Must be able to review budget to facilitate and set departments goals to operate efficiently and within budget.
• Provide monthly training and follow-up to program staff based on training plans for each specific program.
• Provide information to potential clients and verify eligibility for services.
• Conduct interviews to determine client needs.
• Develop and track employment plans and provide case management for each client.
• Coordinate supportive services such as childcare, general transportation, bus tokens, mileage reimbursements and vouchers, and maintain confidentiality thereof.
• Conduct follow-up with clients and supportive services providers.
• Monitor client progress through appropriate activities and take timely action when client circumstances preclude achievement of goal.
• Travel to attend meetings training and other activities
• May facilitate group orientations.
• As needed, Supervisor may step in to assist programs during the hiring process and new employee training.
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Operate a motor vehicle on public roads as required by the position.
• Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (required)
· Experience Requirements: 3-year previous work experience in customer service or training.
· Ability to clearly read, write, and communicate information to internal and external stakeholders.
· Requires computer proficiency and the ability to effectively operate standard office equipment.
· Ability to lead and motivate others in a manner conducive to high productivity and morale.
· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated customer service skills.
· Familiarity with the communities being served.
· Knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.
· Maintain a valid driver's license and status as a qualified driver under the Company’s Vehicle Safety Guidebook standards.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) (preferred)
· Experience with WIT software system (preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
General office environment with moderate noise levels. The position involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking or standing, in a busy environment with frequent unscheduled interruptions. Essential functions of the position require extended periods of driving, exposure to varying weather conditions, and the physical ability to bend, stoop, climb, and lift up to 20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
