Central Kitchen Loader
Employment Status: Seasonal
Rate of Pay: $9.00
Position Overview:
The Loader is responsible for assisting, receiving, and retrieving all produce for the food service facility as directed by cooks, coordinators, and/or supervisors. This employee is responsible for assisting with sanitation responsibilities throughout the facility. They must have a willingness to be flexible and versatile when directed or as needed. Physical demands include, but are not limited to, stooping, reaching, lifting, and carrying bulk food and cases up to 50 pounds.
Key Responsibilites:
- Must have math, reading and writing skills and have sufficient dexterity to handle food and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Job will require working under stress when confronted with emergency situations which requires working with speed is essential.
- Must maintain professionalism and arrive to work on time. In case of an emergency reports directly to Kitchen Supervisor in advance of regular starting time.
- Display a friendly and positive attitude toward the job and other persons; perform job duties willingly, with flexibility, and without complaint.
- Handle food in accordance with sanitary and safety regulations.
- Assist with basic food preparation as needed, and assists with stocking and retrieving of products in Central Kitchen.
- Must be able to push, pull, and guide carts and coolers which weigh approximately 70-300 pounds on a tile surface.
- Abides by agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and personnel policy manual.
- This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive. The Route Coordinator is responsible for other duties as assigned from appropriate management personnel.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- They must have at least one (1) year of experience in food service industry.
- Knowledge of and experience practicing proper safety standards in the handling of food products.
- Must have a genuine desire to work and be reliable.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
