Requirements
- Some Housekeeping/Laundry experience preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge/understanding of Standard Precautions.
Work Hours
Full-Time Opportunities (40 hours/week)
- Monday–Friday
- First Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Includes every 5th weekend and one holiday per year
- Eligible for a retention bonus
Job Summary
The Housekeeper performs duties necessary to provide a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for facility customers under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Performs daily cleaning procedures for areas that are scheduled/trained to work in. This includes mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing windows, etc.
- Returns cleaning equipment to proper areas when done using.
- Replenishes inventory of supplies required for Departmental operation.
- Provides support for laundry services and other housekeeping team members.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Recognizes potential safety hazards and immediately reports hazards to supervisor.
- Monitors facility environmental conditions to ensure compliance with departmental standards.
- Prepares and mixes cleaning solutions.
- Collects and disposes of all types of waste in the manner specified in facility policy including transporting dirty linen and garbage to appropriate areas.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment and ensures that assigned work procedures are completed following established infection control and universal precautions practices.
- Monitors linen inventory and recommends purchase quantities.
- Monitors linen condition and evaluates for quality.
- Performs day to day laundry functions as assigned.
- Folds, weighs, stacks, hangs, and distributes clean linen to designated areas in sufficient quality and in accordance with established procedures.
- Safely lifts bags of laundry, trash or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stocks essential supplies (linens, paper products, etc.) to departments throughout the facility as required.
- Adheres to Southwest Health’s value-based behavior standards.
- Understands and adheres to Southwest Health compliance and HIPAA standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
