What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Educator position at Southwest Health and Human Services?
Southwest Health and Human Services currently has an opening for a Public Health Educator- Public Health Emergency Preparedness, that is based in our Marshall office location.
Southwest Health and Human Services (SWHHS) is a multi-county agency committed to strengthening individuals, families and communities by providing quality services in a respectful, caring and cost-effective manner.
This position will be involved in the planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating detailed plans and documents to use during incident response. This person will build relationships with local, regional and state partners in addition to healthcare and community partners for the purpose of planning for and responding to emergencies such as infectious disease outbreaks, weather related emergencies and other public health emergencies. This person will also coordinate and track training for Public Health staff as well as community partners and perform other funding requirements. As a member of the Public Health team, this person will engage with the community to improve the health and wellbeing of those who live in Southwest Minnesota.
Minimum Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in health science, public health, or behavioral or social science, or related degree.
Preferred Experience:
· Knowledge of Public Health practice and implementation
· Excellent organizational skills
· Experience in building community relations and partnerships to make change
· Experience in assessment and planning, communications and health equity
· Strong public speaking skills

Rate of Pay: $27.12 - $41.96 hourly
